Dr Anja Steude presents her work on the use of OLED microdisplays for biophotonics as a post-deadline paper at OSA’s Frontiers in Optics conference. She discusses the prospect of using the high spatial and temporal resolution of these microdisplays for advanced cell biology and optogenetics. As proof-of-concept, light-controlled locomotion (phototaxis) of the alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii … Read more
Markus Karl joins the Gather Lab as a new PhD student. Welcome!
Malte is just back from SPIE Optics + Photonics in San Diego where he presented on the group’s latest work on using OLEDs as a new platform for biophotonics as well as on various aspects of OLED optics.
From July 1st Marcel Schubert joins the group as a new Research Fellow. Welcome!
With funds from the Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) and the Scottish University Physics Alliance (SUPA) the Gather Lab aquires a new AFM. The system is a first-of-its-kind in the UK, capable of targeted fluid delivery and controlled manipulation of live cells.
Philipp Liehm won the third price for his 2nd year PhD talk. Congratulations!
